Why?
As always,
the process of developing the food safety training program, starts with thorough inspections and data collection
The Bob Rumball Canadian Centre Of Excellence for the Deaf, as its name implies, provides a range of programming services geared towards our neighbours who are deaf or heard of hearing.
These services include staffed housing for those in need of special care. Like any staffed housing, there is a kitchen that must follow the rules of a food premise under Ontario Regulation 493.
The issue? the municipal and private food safety training programs available ARE NOT designed for the deaf or hard of hearing
Thus, In October 2021 Audmax Inc received a call from the Bob Rumball Canadian Centre Of Excellence for the Deaf.
Starting with a thorough inspection of Bob Rumball’s Toronto Facility, as well as a detailed literature and information reviews, Audmax Inc. developed a training program that is best suited for hearing impaired participants.
A participant manual developed with minimal words. but more illustrations and demonstrations.
Animated videos and visual aides with accompanying American Sign Language (ASL) interpretations
Review Questions & Tests developed to be inclusive of those whom are hard of hearing or otherwise require ASL interpretations
All deliverables developed using Adobe Suite products for versatility and customization
